CELEBRATION, CELEBRATION, CELEBRATION
Billy Boy’s Birthday Party
We started off the evening with friends stopping by our house for a pre-party. We honored Bill with a wine toast and he even received some gifts such as a fancy device to scratch his noggin, wine, and CHEDDAR CHEESE. Then we all went out the back gate through Maria’s pasture carefully dodging cow patties and wild dogs. We finally entered the gates of La Mirage for a wonderful dinner celebration. What was amazing was that everyone paid for their own dinner and Bill had a great turnout for his birthday. Eufemia even lit a roman candle along with traditional birthday candles. Bill got a little feisty kissing everyone! Hang in there with the slide show below it takes a few moments for all the pics to load.

Friends hosted a Murder Mystery Party! We had never been to this kind of party so it was a new experience for us.

Did someone say PARTEEEEE?
Ever since Bill’s birthday, it has been a season for impromptu parties. We had a wine party at our house. The last-minute parties are great since I do not have time to clean the house and who cares? Then not to be outdone the Pillar’s had a pizza party followed by what I call a “good neighbors party”. Then the Horn’s hosted a Birthday Party for their daughter visiting from Hawaii. The next party was a Mardi Gras Party. Whew wears me out but these parties really create a community spirit in San Miguel.

International Living: Cotacachi
We were honored to be selected Expat to greet a tour group from International Living. There were 70 folks touring and the ex-pats each told their stories and experience living in Cotacachi. There was a dance performance followed by lunch with the touring guests. I passed on sampling the cuy. Bill and I escorted some people to the Five Star Garden Boutique Hotel and Spa as well as toured some homes for sale in San Miguel. We all agreed to stay in touch. It really is a small world.
Keyhole Garden Update
Kitty getting a little drink out of the garden.
Our keyhole garden (click here) is overflowing with fresh organic vegetables and my link to my website: Cotacachi Confidential provides step-by-step instructions on creating your own garden. I love just walking into the garden to harvest kale for my breakfast smoothies!
February continues to rock and I have so much more to share. Stay tuned for another blog update soon.
