Farewell & Hello

Our friends from La Mirage gave a going away party for Sandra in the true La Mirage style. Sandra’s visit was to short and the time went by so fast. She was the perfect guest and I miss her so much!
When I asked Sandra what did she enjoy the most about her visit to Cotacachi she said the people and our friends! She is so correct the Ecuadorian people are some of the nicest people we have ever met and we have made new friends with folks from all over the United States. Due to our stress free and healthy life style we have time to play and be more social.
THE SIPPERS
The picture below is neighbors and Bill and I just having fun.

RETIRED BUT STILL LEARNING
Don Murphy, one of our neighbors hosts Science Class every week. Our classes have been on BICEPS 2 ( The Big Bang Theory), ebola, evolution, multi-universe, mathematics related to NSA Information and Higgs Bozen (God Particle). The discussions are lively and he suggests that we drink a class of wine before we arrive to class. Don was a moderator with the Aspen Institute for leadership development. He made regular appearances on CNN, CNBC, CSPAN and MSNBC. The classes had started out being hosted at different neighbors homes but has moved to the fabulous La Mirage complete with wine and appetizers! Later we continue the discussion in the fabulous La Mirage Bar! What a way to learn!

YEE HA!! NEW TEXAS NEIGHBORS
We were so happy to have new neighbors from Hawley, Texas which is near Abilene. So we were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their container with all their treasures.
Two Texas Boys waiting for the Hargrove’s Container

Because the entrance to San Miguel is not tall enough for the container to enter the gates all of the boxes had to be offloaded into a small pickup truck! Oh my, I have been through this before. Bill and I checked off each box unloaded with Hargrove’s inventory list! Sandra Baquero, San Star Shipping stayed with the container until every item was unloaded and then joined us at the Hargrove’s home.

After everything was unloaded it was time to celebrate at La Mirage. We first went to the La Mirage Bar and then on to dinner hosted by Danny and Vickie.

CABANAS de LAGO SAN PABLO
We were running low on Chocolate Liqueur which you can only find at San Pablo so we decided it was also a good excuse for dinner.

TIME TO PARTY WITH FRIENDS COTACACHI STYLE

PARADE, PARADE, PARADE
The beautiful people of Ecuador certainly know how to celebrate. Maybe that is why they are not stressed out like the Americans. Always a good reason to have a parade.

This Little Girl had her Pet Rabbit Dressed in Doll Clothes!Stay tuned for the October issue which will be our ONE YEAR anniversary of moving from the great state of TEXAS to stress-free Ecuador. Wow, it has been a year!
