A blog About La Mirage Tree Lighting Ceremony
December is going to fly by with parties and more adventures. So again I am going to publish my blogs more frequently but make them shorter.
We were invited to an invitation-only tree lighting ceremony in the gardens of La Mirage. Several of our friends were also invited so we met at our house for a glass of wine before heading out the back gate and through the pasture to La Mirage.
One of the things I always notice about La Mirage is their attention to detail creating a magical party. When we entered we were greeted with a glass of champagne (my favorite)! The tables were set up, draped in white flowing curtains accompanied by little lamps on the table. The gardens were glittering with Christmas lights everywhere you looked. Little desserts on some of the tables. The staff walked around serving all sorts of delicious appetizers everything from tiny little deviled quail eggs (I had to think twice about deviled quail eggs), coconut crispy shrimp, ceviche, pate, cheese & crackers to just name a few. Some of the wine vendors from the Quito wine gala brought a variety of fine wines from Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador for us to sample. More about the Quito wine gala in another blog. Plus a cheese vendor served outstanding local cheeses for us to try. One of the owners made a brief presentation followed by the smallest little “Father Christmas” officially lighting the Christmas tree. We had a wonderful time visiting with friends and making new friends.
But before I forget Billy Boy & I went to Quito so check out our adventure on my new website called Cotacachi Confidential and look under the exploration tab for my article on “Old World Charm, Angels & Chocolate”. Let me know what you think of the new site. So in order to keep this blog brief, I will end now. I hope you enjoy the slideshow that follows.
