Locked Down Day 61 : Part 6
Scrub, Scrub A Dub Little Cotacachi: take this COVID 19!

The city also disinfects all vehicles entering or leaving Cotacachi. Yikes, sometimes the mystery solution is sprayed inside your car. No worries we have not used our car.
Veggie. fruit, eggs, and chicken were delivered right to our door. Wow, this is really nice and you just call or order on what’s an app with prompt FREE delivery. There is no price gouging. So many of the Ecuadorians are not working just like folks in the United States and yet they have families to feed. We have ordered food for 5 families. Bill just asks the wife what she needs and San Mateo Proveedora a wholesaler in the market stops by and we pay them. Then they deliver the food to the folks. I call this paying it forward! There are groups that are creating bags of food for delivery but I prefer to give to the people that I know and have a working relationships.

This is just an example of what they deliver FREE!

There has not been a shortage of any grocery supplies and we have not left Cotacachi. Several of the restaurants are offering special delivery from their menu. The actual restaurants are closed.
You can take the girl out of TEXAS but you cannot take TEXAS out of the girl!
We made What A Burger’s with fries plus sales with chips Bill made and of course the right type of CORONA!

The Imbabura Province which includes Cotacachi, Otavalo & Ibarra plus a few surrounding towns is declared code RED. Currently, 6 cases identified in Cotacachi. Each person is allowed to be out to shop on 2 days a week, and those who have a car are allowed to drive it 1 day each week but as the song goes never on a Sunday (or Saturday) we must wear a mask at all times if we leave our property. There are permits given to some businesses to allow them to deliver necessary items, particularly food items, to our homes each day of the week. The curfew remains in effect from 2 pm until 5:00 am each day. There is still no travel allowed between provinces. If you are 60 or older you are to stay home. But no one is sticking to this rule or checking ages. The intent is to protect the older generation. I think Ecuador is doing a pretty good job especially little Cotacachi.
It is nice to have a large yard with an abundance of lemons, figs, oranges, and avocados. There is no shortage of pork or beef like in the United States. A few days ago we purchased beef tenderloin. We have plenty of food and supplies and do not need anything. Occasionally, Bill will walk from town to the bank but he wears his mask and gloves which are required. The gardeners came last week and cut the knee-high grass. I was just getting ready to get the weed eater out and start cutting a path out again. I just could not stand the high grass! Funny the small things you take for granted. Feeling Blessed!
Stay safe and “remember this too will pass”
